Dr. Bin Wang is a Professor of Structural Engineering in the Department of Civil Engineering at Sichuan University. He received his Bachelor in Civil Engineering from Xiamen University, China and he received both his M.Sc and Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from Tongji University, China. Before joining SCU, he was a Research Associate and Postdoctoral Fellow at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong, China, and a JSPS Research Fellow at the Department of Architecture and Architectural Engineering, Kyoto University, Japan.

Dr. Wang is the recipient of several academic awards including the Sichuan Province's high-level talent plan (四川省天府峨眉计划) in 2022, the "Excellent Young Researcher Award" (优秀青年研究者奖) from the Association of Chinese Alumni in Japan in 2022, the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Fellowship (欧盟玛丽·居里学者) from the European Commission in 2021, "Excellent Presentation Award"(优秀发表奖) from Japan Association for Earthquake Engineering (日本地震工学会) in 2020, "EASEC Young Researcher/Engineer Award" (EASEC青年学者奖) from the 16th East Asia-Pacific Conference on Structural Engineering and Construction in 2019, "JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship" (外国人特别研究员) from Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (日本学术振兴会) in 2018, "Commendation Merit Award of Structural Excellence" from Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (香港工程师学会) in 2018, "Outstanding Ph.D. Graduate Award" (上海市优秀毕业生) from Shanghai Municipality in 2015, "Liu Huixian Earthquake Engineering Scholarship Award" (刘恢先地震工程奖学金) from the Huixian Earthquake Engineering Foundation (China) and the US-China Earthquake Engineering Foundation (USA) in 2013.
